Dr. Kerry Mix

Kerry Keith Mix, Executive Vice President and Provost at Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT), is a proud graduate of a Texas community college and was grateful for the opportunity to teach in the program from which he graduated. He has nearly two decades of higher education experience; including community college, state college, and university experience.

Dr. Mix has leadership experience in student services, workforce development, and academic affairs. He has held positions as an electronic servicing faculty member; ambassador coordinator; dean of enrollment services; dean of business and technology; and vice chancellor for academics and provost. Prior to joining LIT, he served an institution in a state system similar to the Texas State University System.

In addition, he was selected to be a research assistant for the prestigious Center for Community College Student Engagement, as well as a Liaison for the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development. Dr. Mix has earned an A.A.S., B.A.A.S., and M.Ed. in his educational journey. His Ph.D. is from The University of Texas at Austin’s Community College Leadership Program.

David has been with Lamar Institute of Technology  since 1998, overseeing Workforce Education, Marketing, Institutional Effectiveness, Grants, Online Learning, and the newly created Teaching and Learning Center. David has served as The Institute’s representative on numerous Statewide, Texas State University System (TSUS), and institutional committees.

David also teaches the College Success Skills Course.

David graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems.

 

Bonnie Albright

Bonnie has been with Lamar Institute of Technology for 18 years, overseeing Finance, Facilities, Food Services and IT and established The Institute’s accounting, cashiering, and payroll areas. Bonnie recently oversaw construction of the $15.7 million replacement building.

Bonnie graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelors in Business Administration in Accounting.
