Course Description: A comprehensive course on the welding of pipe using the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process. Welds will be done using various positions. Topics covered include electrode selection, equipment setup, and safe shop practices. Students must successfully complete a 5G pipe ASME certification. This is a capstone course for the Certificate of Completion in Welding Technology. Students must take the WorkKeys TM Test.
