Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) invites the community to a holiday tree lighting event, sponsored by Entergy, from 5-7 p.m. November 20th located at the campus, 855 E. Lavaca. In addition to the tree lighting ceremony, attendees can write letters and take a photo with Santa, get creative with seasonal crafts and snack on hot cocoa and cookies. Entertainment will include choir presentations from Pietzsch-MacArthur School and carolers from the Beaumont Community Players cast of “A Christmas Carol.” Throughout the event, the LIT Foundation will hold a silent wreath auction, each beautifully created by LIT employees, that will benefit student scholarships. Even if you are unable to attend the event, you will be able to bid on the wreaths online starting on Monday morning, November 18. Entrance and activities are free to the public.
