Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) hosted its second college Transfer Fair on March 19 at the LIT Multi-Purpose Center. This year, a total of 16 colleges from the region and five military branches set up booths to expose students to options and opportunities after finishing their degree at LIT.

Students communicated with recruiters from Texas Woman's University, McNeese State University, Louisiana State University of Alexandria, Lamar University, Sam Houston State University, East Texas Baptist University, Grand Canyon University, Texas State University, Galveston College, Texas A&M RELLIS, Texas A&M University, Stephen F. Austin State University, University of Houston-Victoria, Brazosport College, Houston Christian University, and University of Texas-Tyler, the Texas Army National Guard, United States Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and the Coast Guard.

“This year we added more universities and colleges and also included military recruiters that were able to make it to meet with our students,” said Karina Salgado-Estrada, LIT Outreach Recruiter. “I decided to add military branches because I believe students need to know what career options and even benefits are available to them with an education from LIT if they have been considering joining the military.”

LIT will continue to provide students with options and educate them about continuing their education after completing their associate degree.
