STEM Summer Bridge Program

 

The LIT STEM Summer Bridge Program is designed for class of 2026 Beaumont ISD high school graduates who have been accepted to LIT and are interested in pursuing a career in a STEM field. This two-week program will support first-time-in-college students in their academic, social and personal transition to college while providing early exposure to college-level expectations and hands-on STEM learning.

The program is offered at no cost thanks to a generous sponsorship by ExxonMobil Beaumont.

Program Overview

  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Tentative Date: July 2026

Program Highlights

  • STEM bootcamp and exploration of multiple programs of study
  • Engaging instruction from dynamic instructors and subject matter experts
  • Academic and career planning support
  • Participation in LIT's New Student Orientation
  • Introduction to college-level pedagogy and academic expectations
  • Opportunities to engage with business and industry, including exposure to ExxonMobil-supported STEM initiatives
  • Completion of the DORI 0200 College Success course
  • Free TSI test preparation (if needed)

There will be a competitive application process for interested students and a cap of 30 participants.
