The Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) Alumni Association is hosting a volunteer opportunity at the Southeast Texas Food Bank on September 19. Staff, faculty, current students, and alumni are invited to participate in the service opportunity, which will run from 6 to 8 p.m.

“At LIT, it’s important to us to give back and support our community. We thought a great place to start would be helping our neighbors at the Southeast Texas Food Bank,” said Pat Anderson, Alumni Affairs Specialist.
The Southeast Texas Food Bank, which serves to address food insecurity in the region, will benefit from the collective effort of LIT volunteers packing food for distribution. The event provides attendees a chance to contribute to something meaningful and to connect with others who share the same commitment to giving back.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our LIT family to come together and make a tangible difference,” said Anderson. “Our commitment to community service is a core value, and participating in this event is a testament to that dedication.”

The LIT Alumni Association invites everyone 13 years and older to join in and help make a positive impact on the local community. If interested, RSVP via email at alumni@lit.edu.
