Accounting Degree Program - Associate of Applied Science
The Accounting Technology program prepares the student for a career as an accounting paraprofessional in business, industry, government, or public accounting. Students receive instruction in accounting concepts, computerized accounting, payroll accounting, tax accounting, managerial accounting, and spreadsheets for accounting.
The Accounting Technology program of study is 60 semester credit hours in length and includes general education courses (such as writing, mathematics, and speech) and technical courses (accounting, small business, economics, computer applications, etc.). Graduates of the program are prepared to perform accounting functions for small-to-medium businesses and are often recruited for entry-level accounting positions in accounting firms.
The intensity and standards of the Accounting Technology program are high. Therefore, all courses in the Recommended Program of Study must be completed with a grade of "C" or better. Any Accounting Technology student who does not earn a grade of "C" or higher must repeat the course
