Lamar Institute of Technology recognizes twelve instructors and department chairs that successfully attained the Higher Education Teaching Certificate program from Harvard University Online throughout Summer 2024.

“This accomplishment underscores our instruction team’s commitment to providing a high-quality, innovative education,” said Dr. Angela Hill, Vice President of Instruction/Provost. “We are excited to see how these newly acquired skills will contribute to our ongoing mission of fostering an engaging academic environment.”

The Higher Education Teaching Certificate program, an intensive eight-week course, equips educators with effective postsecondary teaching methods. Participants reflect on their teaching practices and develop portfolios encapsulating their skills.  Under the guidance of experts, they explored various pedagogical approaches, research effective learning strategies and refine their teaching skills to create more collaborative and inclusive learning environments.
