Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) announces a certified record enrollment for Fall 2025, with 6,492 unduplicated students, the largest in the college’s history and a 16 percent increase from Fall 2024.

This milestone is a reflection of LIT’s commitment to delivering student-centered technical education and workforce training that lead to credentials of value, career advancement and economic mobility. Enrollment growth is being seen across the college’s various sectors, including Healthcare and Sciences, Business, Industrial and Engineering Technology, Manufacturing and Trades Technology and Public Service and Safety.

“I believe our continued growth is a testament to the education LIT delivers, and the high return on investment of our programs,” LIT President Dr. Sid Valentine, said. “By keeping our curriculum and training aligned with employer needs, we’re preparing students for meaningful careers in high-demand fields, especially here in Southeast Texas.”

In 2025, the college further expanded flexible learning pathways, including the launch of LIT Online, and the continued offering of evening and weekend classes designed to fit the schedules of working and parenting students.

“At LIT, we’re focused on access and opportunity,” Valentine said. “We want to ensure every student has the chance to gain the skills and credentials that can transform their life, their family’s future and strengthen our community as a whole.”
