Analyzer technicians carry out all aspects of maintenance, modification, calibration, and testing of analyzer instruments. Students will preform specialized instrumentation troubleshooting and scheduled maintenance procedures for plant analyzer instruments. Students will also acquire the skills to install, calibrate, and maintain some of the most intricate instrumentation in the world. Analyzer Technicians are highly skilled and are vital for the control of processes and environmental compliance.What will I learn?
The student will learn to identify various analytical instruments and describe their functions, strengths, and limitations. They will evaluate the various types of analyzers relative to the process or product analysis involved and select the appropriate analyzer and/or sample system.What can I do with this Certificate
The Analyzer Technology program prepares the student to gain the basic knowledge for safe work habits and understand the importance of good work ethics to succeed in today's workforce. The students will learn the fundamentals and principles of the operations of general instrumentation and specifically analyzers required to gain employment in the successful and high paying career in analyzer technology. The certificate option is best for students who already hold an AAS in Instrumentation Technology.Degree Requirements
The Certificate in Analyzer Technology prepares students to enter the field of instrumentation as an analyzer technician. The Certificate is a two-semester (31 hours) instructional program. It is recommended that those enrolling in the certificate program already have and Associate of Applied Science in Instrumentation degree.
