Sexual Misconduct Policy
The Texas State University System and Lamar Institute of Technology(LIT) are committed to maintaining and educational environment free from all forms of sex discrimination. Lamar Institute of Technology does not discriminate on the basis of race, color national or ethic origin, gender, disability, religion, veteran status or age its programs and activities to provide equal access to all applicants, faculty, staff and students.
Sexual misconduct is a form of sex discrimination and will not be tolerated. LIT will maintain an environment that promotes prompt reporting of all types of sexual misconduct as well as a timely and fair resolution of sexual misconduct complaints. LIT will take prompt and appropriate action to eliminate sexual misconduct, prevent the recurrence and remedy the effects.
Retaliation
Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) takes reports of sexual misconduct very seriously and will not tolerate retaliation against those who make such reports or participate in the investigatory or adjudication process.
Any actual or threatened retaliation, or any act of intimidation to prevent or otherwise obstruct the reporting of sexual misconduct, or the participation in proceedings relating to sexual misconduct may be considered a separate violation of the Sexual Misconduct Policy and may result in disciplinary sanctions.
Any person who feels that he or she has been subjected to retaliation should immediately report this concern to the Title IX Coordinator.
False Reporting
Any individual who knowingly files a false Complaint under the Sexual Misconduct Policy, or knowingly provides false information to LIT officials, or who intentionally misleads College officials who are involved in the investigation or resolution of a Complaint shall be subject to disciplinary action.
