What classes are offered during the summer?
Lamar Institute of Technology is proud to offer a wide variety of courses during summer semesters. There's a good chance the classes you're needing will be available during the summer! For a full list of summer course offerings click here
What advantages are there to taking summer courses?
 
  • Summer classes are short – usually six to eight weeks long.
  • Taking summer classes helps some students “stay in the mode” of studying.  It helps them maintain a routine of learning and studying throughout the summer. 
What is the cost for dual enrolled students taking summer courses?
Dual Credit Students pay $50.00 per credit hour. These fees do not include the cost for additional resources such as books and supplies.
Do graduating seniors keep their dual enrollment rate?
Yes, recent high school graduates will keep their dual enrollment rate for both summer semesters! Dual Credit Students pay $50.00 per credit hour. These fees do not include the cost for additional resources such as books and supplies.
Will my credits transfer to other institutions?
All core curriculum courses have been converted to ensure that if you decide to leave for another institution, your credits may transfer. To see if a course will transfer to a college or university in Texas, visit www.tccns.org
Do summer courses count for high school credit?
Students attending a high school who is partnered with LIT may take courses independently from their high school at Lamar Institute of Technology. However, LIT can not ensure that these courses will count for high school credit at your high school. For this reason, you are encouraged to work with your high school counselor if you are seeking concurrent credit for courses taken independently. 
How do I enroll in classes for summer?
 Students that are interested in registering for dual enrollment courses must apply to LIT. Students may apply at www.ApplyTexas.org. Once your application is sumbmitted contact a dual credit advisor at LIT for your next steps.
