LIT welcomes all Vista College students

10/11/2021

BEAUMONT – Lamar Institute of Technology is extending a warm welcome to all of Beaumont Vista College’s enrolled students, with the school being one of the latest trade schools recently to shutter its doors.

According to Channel 12 News, Vista College distributed a statement last Friday to its students and staff, announcing the mid-semester closure of all seven of its Texas campuses, effective immediately, citing “financial circumstances” due to the COVID-19 pandemic for its demise.

It’s not too late; LIT is actively recruiting and enrolling students for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022, with tuition reduced 47 percent in the past two years. Additionally, LIT Cares is available to keep education affordable, with the school paying for one or two fall classes, when registering for two or more classes.

Former Vista College students are encouraged to contact an LIT Student Success Advisor as soon as possible to explore educational opportunities at LIT for a seamless transition.

Financial aid is also still available after students complete a 2021-2022 FASFA form (fasfa.gov) and admissions application (ApplyTexas.org). For a complete list of other available scholarships, applicants may visit lit.edu/foundation/scholarships.

Students interested in transferring and attending LIT may visit lit.edu/cares or lit.edu/go for information, email studentserv@lit.edu or call 409-880-8321.
