The Committee on Nominations shall prepare a notice of vacancies for the upcoming elections, with an electronic form to submit for those interested to be sent via email to all eligible Staff members. Individuals wishing to run for election must submit their name for elections prior to June 30. An electronic ballot would then be created from submitted staff members and sent out to the eligible staff to cast a vote for their choices. In the event of a tie, a vote will be held in a run-off election to break the tie.

Candidates running for President must have served at least one year on the Staff Senate as an officer or representative.

Term of Office
Newly elected officers and representatives will serve for two years.  Terms will begin the first regularly scheduled meeting of the Fall semester after the election, through August 31st two years later.

A department representative may serve three consecutive terms. After a lapse of one year, that same individual is again eligible for election as a representative.

The Member at Large/Past President is required to serve a one year term and may, at their discretion, voluntarily serve a second year.
