ExxonMobil Presents Giving Tuesday Check and Holds Mentorship Panel

In observance of Giving Tuesday, held on November 28, 2023, ExxonMobil Complex Manager Mike Mustian presented a donation of $40,000 to Lamar Institute of Technology. This donation benefits LIT STEM-related dual credit scholarships for Beaumont ISD (BISD) Students; process operating, instrumentation, industrial mechanics curriculum; and equipment for technology students.

“We are thankful for the continued support from ExxonMobil Beaumont, not only through this monetary donation, but through their time spent on our campus hosting hosting alumni mixers, women in industry panels, project interviews, mentorship opportunities and more,” said Dr. Sidney Valentine, president. “Their support is present from the time students start out in kindergarten and grow up through BISD, as they fine tune their skillset at LIT and through eventual employment. I am proud to call us partners, and I thank them for your contributions to our college today and year-round.”

Following the presentation, ExxonMobil hosted speed mentoring at LIT to assist our technology students in learning the best approaches for employment interviews. Students had a five-minute opportunity to speak with different ExxonMobil employees about how to present themselves professionally during interviews, resume tips, and general ways to increase their chances of landing a job in the future.
