4/28/2025
Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) reports record enrollment for Spring 2025, reaching a historic 5,291 unduplicated students. This enrollment represents an 11 percent increase from Spring 2024.
This semester marks the highest spring enrollment in the college’s history and reflects LIT’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, career-focused education.
LIT continues to experience growth across multiple disciplines, offering over 80 degree and certificate opportunities in the fields of Allied Health, Business, Technology and Public Service and Safety.
“I believe this growth can be attributed to our longstanding partnerships within industry, that ensure our curriculum and equipment is aligned with their standards,” Dr. Sid Valentine, President said. “As a result, LIT is an attractive option for individuals looking to get a high-quality education, in two years or less, and gain employment in high-demand fields—especially here in Southeast Texas and throughout the state.”
The college has also expanded flexible learning options, including online, evening and weekend courses, helping to accommodate working students.
“We’re committed to meeting students where they are and providing the skills they need to be successful in today’s workforce,” Valentine said. “Making education attainable to our students is a priority, so they can better the lives of themselves, their families and our community.”
LIT registration is now open for Summer and Fall 2025 at www.lit.edu.
