The Lamar Institute of Technology’s (LIT) Communications and Marketing Department was honored with four awards at the Press Club of Southeast Texas’ 34th Annual Excellence in Media and Newsmakers of the Year Gala, recognizing the team’s outstanding work in storytelling, video production and internal communications.

In the Internal Publications/Individual Story category, the team secured first place for the article “Lamar Institute of Technology Launches Golden Eagle Ambassador Program” and second place for “Jones Earns AWS Certified Welding Inspector Certification.”

“These awards reflect the hard work, talent, creativity of our entire department,” said Hannah LeTulle, Director of Communications and Marketing. “I’m incredibly proud of how our team continues to elevate LIT’s message and mission.”

In the Corporate/Institutional Video category, LIT received second place for its Spring 2024 Scholarship Recipients Banquet video and an honorable mention for the 2024 Campus Update video.

“It felt amazing being able to showcase my skills and be recognized by the Press Club of Southeast Texas,” said Jeremiah Kelly, Marketing Coordinator. “I put a lot of effort into my work for LIT, and I’m genuinely grateful to have a platform and team that allows me to grow and share my passion.”

The annual Press Club Excellence in Media Gala recognizes creative content in journalism and communications across the Southeast Texas region, drawing entries from area media professionals.
