Allied Health and Science Instructor Melanie Daleo and Accreditation Specialist Chelsea Graves were recognized with the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award.

The NISOD Excellence Award is presented to faculty or staff members from NISOD member colleges who are recognized for their exceptional dedication and outstanding work on their campuses. This award signifies Daleo and Graves’ commitment to LIT students and colleagues, both inside and outside the classroom.

"I was thrilled to hear that Melanie Daleo and Chelsea Graves have been awarded NISOD Excellence awards,” said Richard Fruscione, Allied Health and Sciences Department Chair. “This recognition is a testament to their tireless efforts and commitment to excellence in education. Their dedication to LIT and their passion for student success are truly inspiring, and I am so proud to have them as part of our team. I am also grateful for the impact they have on our students' lives and feel fortunate to work alongside them."

In addition to a presentation of a medallion and certificate, the pair were invited to the annual conference and awards dinner.

“From this conference, I learned that I already am a leader and that sometimes our innate skills are recognized by others before we even recognize them ourselves,” said Graves. “We also learned more about how to help our students and colleagues succeed, while also understanding what setting realistic goals means.”
