The Sabine Neches Chiefs’ Association (SNCA) presented the Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) Foundation with a $15,000 check benefiting scholarships for students in programs within the Public Service and Safety Department on June 5, 2024.

Funds were raised at the SNCA annual golf tournament held on April 26, 2024.

“Since 2015, the SNCA Scholarship Golf Tournament has provided over $166,000 in scholarships to 166 students that are studying in the Public Service and Safety programs at LIT,” Krista Hunter, LIT Executive Director of Development and Foundation said. “We are thankful for their continued partnership and dedication to our students.”

The SNCA is a team of public and private entities working together to protect the standard of life and resources of the community through teamwork, integrity and preparedness.

It’s important to the Association to build continuity and replacements for our organizations. We depend on the response capabilities built with a foundation from LIT public safety programs to keep sufficient numbers of qualified responders required for public safety,” SNCA President Tim Ocnaschek said.
