Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) is gearing up to host a career fair, offering current students and alumni the chance to connect with potential employers. The event will take place from 12 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, at the Paul and Connie Szuch Multi-Purpose Center.

Local employers will be in attendance, including BRIGGS Industrial Solutions, Beaumont and Port Arthur ISDs, WestRock, City of Groves, Department of Public Safety, Beaumont and Lamar University Police Departments, Callan Marine, All Saints - Beaumont (Daycare) and OCI. These organizations will provide information on industry expectations, job openings, internships and career paths relevant to LIT graduates.

“This is an excellent opportunity for students to meet professionals in their field of interest, explore career options and even land job interviews on the spot,” Lindsey Grantham, Student Life Coordinator, said. “Our goal is to create a space where students can take that next step toward their professional future right here on campus.”

Grantham encourages students to come prepared--job seekers may have the opportunity for on-the-spot interviews, learn about current openings or make contact with their future boss.

“Attendees should bring updated résumés, dress in professional attire and be ready to introduce themselves,” she said. “Making a good first impression can make a lasting impact on your career throughout your lifetime.”

LIT is still accepting industry booth reservations. For more information or to reserve a booth, contact Lindsey Grantham at lgrantham@lit.edu or 409-241-7047.
