Black History Month 2024: Celebrating Culture and Community

Throughout February, Lamar Institute of Technology celebrates Black History Month, recognizing the rich culture and contributions of African American individuals to the college and world-wide.
In celebration, LIT will host the following events:
February 7
Black Panther Screening
Location: Eagles’ Nest Multi-Purpose Room
Time: 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m.
Snacks, drinks and T-shirts, will be provided for students attending.
February 8
Painting with Eagles
Location: Gateway Campus
Time: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Instructor-led painting with a Black History Month theme. There are three time slots for lessons at 10 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. Snacks, drinks, and T-shirts will be provided.
February 20
Painting with Eagles

Location: The Quad (Located in front of the Cecil Beeson Building)
